Wednesday, December 03, 1924 to Monday, November 07, 2011 A Resident of Leopold, MO Visitation Services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the St John's Catholic Church in Leopold, MO The Final Resting Place is at the St John's Catholic Church Cemetery in Leopold, MO Luke Robert Jansen, age 86, of Leopold, MO, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011 at the Woodland Hills Nursing Home. He was born December 3, 1924 at Leopold, MO; son of Gerhard L. and Anna Debrock Jansen. He married Mary Louise Steinnerd on June 28, 1947 at the St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold. Luke was a farmer, member of the St. John's Catholic Church, member of the Farm Bureau, and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus #5898. He was K of C Missouri state family of the year from 1995-1996 and a founding father of the K of C State Horseshoe Tournament. Luke was also a member of the VFW Post #5900 and served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII. Survivors include: his wife, Mary Louise of Leopold; seven sons, Michael (Marilyn) Jansen of Spring Hill, TN; Larry (Sheila) Jansen of Springfield, MO; Stanley (Marilyn) Jansen; Norman (JoEllen) Jansen; Gerald (Leeann) Jansen; and Lindy (Cindy) Jansen all of Leopold; Richard (Tami) Jansen of Hillsboro, MO; three daughters, Pamela (Denny) Horrell; Sheila (Jeff) Irvin of Leopold; Eva (Kenny) Denton of Jackson; a sister, Gertie Vandeven of Leopold; twenty-nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and twenty-eight great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, six brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial, contributions may be made to the Hope Benefit in care of Saint John's Catholic Church, PO Box 83, Leopold, MO; or to Birthright. Visitation will be Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill with Rosary at 7:00 PM and parish prayers. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10:00 A.M., November 11, 2011 at the St. John's Catholic Church, with Rev. William Hennecke officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. Luke was a gentle soul, just like Sheila's and my dad. He has left his family with wonderful memories, values and love. That is the greatest gift a father can give his wife and children. God Bless the Jansen family now and especially on 11/11/11. Luke is at eternal rest in Heaven. I know Larry is the man he is because of his kind parents. I will pray the rosary this Friday from afar. Please know my heart is with all the family members. I know it will be very touching that Billy will play the Ava Maria on his sax.
