Saturday, January 30, 1926 to Friday, May 18, 2012 A Resident of Marble Hill, MO Visitation Services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church Cemetery near Marble Hill, MO Anna Mae "Sis" Douglas, 86, of Marble Hill, MO, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born January 30, 1926 in Hurricane Fork Community daughter of the Late Rev. Elzie J. and Hattie A. Cook. She and Oda George Edward Douglas were united in marriage on October 13, 1945 and he passed away on November 23, 1983. Sis, was a great momma, mamaw and granny to more than just her kids and grandkids that she loved spending time with along with her special sister Mary Susan, we will all miss her lots. She loved to go to church and Sunday school at the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church where she was a life time member, make garden and grow flowers. She liked to quilt quilts, put puzzles together and just sitting on her front porch and watching the cars go up and down the hill for a past time. She loved lots of Good singing and preaching, and she would always say let's have church. Survivors include; sons Bud (Doris) Douglas; Butch (Eddy) Douglas; daughters Linda (James) Lincoln; Brenda Kirkpatrick and Janet (Jerry) Howell all of Marble Hill; sister Mary S. Long of Marble Hill; sisters-in-laws Dorothy Cook of Burfordville; Gerald Cook of Marble Hill; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren several nieces and nephews she thought the world of. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Albert, Elbert "Dude", Oda Franklin, John Henry, grandson Mike Douglas, and great-grandson Tyler Rhodes. Visitation will be Monday, May 21, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Then Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Sander, Rev. Jimmie Fulbright and Rev. Jerry Sander officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill. Dear family, What a loving mom, grandma and friend. She is one of my best friends. Loved her so much.. Have had so much fun with her in my life. Took a trip to Branson with her and we had so much fun. But, most of all what a christian woman. She was never afraid to serve the Lord no matter where she was. To see her shout was a blessing in itself. Didnt matter where the spirit filled her at home church or at the Great Passion Play in Eureka. What a blessing she has been to me. I love her so much. I know she will be waiting for all of us on heavens shore. Precious memories how they linger, how they ever flood my soul. Love you Sis. Much love to the family. She sure was one dear lady that everone is gonna miss. Most of all those prayers she was always sending up for everyone is what we will really miss. She has always been special to me and I will always remember for all the love she showed me.God please be with the family and hold them together and help them lean on you Lord because this is the only way of survial.Love you all!!! So sorry,she will be missed by many. We love you granny and will always be in our hearts we miss you tons already. I know your watching over us.
