Friday, March 08, 1957 to Tuesday, June 05, 2012 A Resident of Marble Hill, MO Visitation Services will be held on Thursday, June 07, 2012 at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 08, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Grassy Friendship General Baptist Church in Grassy, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Grassy Friendship Cemetery in Grassy, MO Charles Dan Hovis, 55, of Marble Hill, MO; passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born March 8, 1957, at St. Louis, MO; son of the late Rev. Charles William and Alvera Ossig Hovis. Dan had been an owner of a Salvage yard in St. Charles, MO; Fair Deal Auto Sales in Montana; Dan's Used Cars & Trucks in Marble Hill; and Hovis Timber Buyers in Marble Hill. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, visiting the elderly and the sick; was an avid antique shopper and minister. Survivors include: sons Josh (Makisha) Mudro, Jacob (Brittany) Hovis; Jerrad Hovis all of Marble Hill; daughter Crystal Mudro of Leopold; brothers Johnny Hovis of Marble Hill; Curtis Hovis of Wright City; sisters Donna Kidd of St. Clair, MO; Deanna Regot and Nina Morris of Middletown, MO; Mary Sullivan of Weldon Springs, MO; Inita Hovis of Wildwood, MO; Cindy Bryan of St. Charles, MO; Effie Masters of Marble Hill; and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brother Jesse Kidd. Visitation will be Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral Services will be on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Grassy Friendship Church in Grassy with the Rev Bobby Robbins and Rev. Donnie Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Grassy Cemetery in Grassy. We are sending our love and prayers to you children, Jake & Brittany, Bubba, Josh & Makisha and Crystal and all the grandbabies he loved so much. The last few years have been so hard on all of you as a family. Reach out and cling to each other, your love as a family will help bring you through this time of sorrow and loss. Remember only the good happy family times and try to forget the sad trying ones. You are always in our hearts and we miss you. Take care of your mother and understand that she suffered a loss in this also and she hurts because you her children are in pain. You sisters you know how I will always care about each of you. I want to send my condolences to all of his family. Growing up it was always a treat to us when he showed up. My grandma Gladys came alive. He treated her so good, and I'll always remember and appreciate that. Maybe the two of them have already got together and she has already made him her strawberry-rhubarb pie that he loved so well.
