Danny Byrd

Danny K. Byrd, 77, of Patton, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Claru DeVille Nursing Center. Danny was born on December 6, 1948, in St. Francis, Arkansas, to Orba and Lillian (Ward) Byrd. On April 15, 1972, he married the love of his life, Deborah Burbach, in St. Charles, Missouri, beginning a marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Danny graduated from Campbell High School in 1967, proudly becoming the first in his family to graduate. After several years of working in sales he went on to serve over 30 years in law enforcement, beginning his career in Campbell, Missouri. He later served as a Deputy with the Bollinger County Sheriff's Department and eventually retired from the Marble Hill Police Department. During his time in law enforcement, Danny also served as a D.A.R.E. Officer, working with students throughout Bollinger County Schools and making a lasting impact on countless young lives. Beyond his career, Danny was known for his big heart and joyful spirit. He and Deborah brought smiles to many as Santa and Mrs. Claus for area Christmas celebrations, creating special memories for children and families throughout the community. After retirement, Danny found joy in baking, spending time outdoors, and tinkering in the garage. Above all, he cherished every moment with his loving wife and family. He was an extremely proud paw paw to all of his grandchildren and always enjoyed watching them play sports and cherished every moment watching them grow. Danny is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his daughter, Rachel (Jason) Coleman of Patton; and his three grandchildren, Marissa Byrd, Caidyn Byrd, and Lilliana Coleman. He is also survived by his sister, Alice Key of St. Charles, nephew Bucky (Sherry) Willard, Niece Misty (Tony) Bradbury, Nephew Eddie Byrd, and great nephews Bobby & AJ, and great niece Addy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Daniel Byrd; four brothers, Jackie, Ricky, Larry Jr., and Jimmy Ray Byrd; and one sister, Orbylene Willard. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 5-7 pm with a short service starting at 7pm at Ford & Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Missouri.
