He was born September 27, 1932 in Patton, MO son of Luther Tony and Lurlien Grace Mungle Brotherton. Mr. Brotherton was a farmer, a member of the American Legion Post in Perryville, MO, and served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. Survivors include; one daughter Tina Brown of Perryville, one sister, Dorothy Stanfill of Patton, MO five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and one son Daniel Brotherton. Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton on Thursday, February 15, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Friday, February 16, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home in Patton, MO with the Rev. Gerald McBride officiating. Burial will follow in the Patton Cemetery in Patton, MO with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honors Team. I am sorry to read about the passing of your love one. I send my sincere condolences to the family and friends. When unforeseen occurrences befall us and the enemy death strikes our grief can be great. It is at times like this that we need comfort and support whether we are acquainted or not. May you find comfort in Almighty God's promises found in his word the Bible which does not lead to disappointment. One such promise is found at Revelation 21: 1-5 'And death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Our Heavenly Father has also promise to bring about the resurrection, "and I have hope towards God which hope we also entertained that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous..." What a grand reunion that will be! You and I have the prospects of seeing our loves one again under the best conditions possible; a beautiful paradise earth.
