Donna Gard

Donna Carol (Beal) Gard, 78, of Bloomfield, MO passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri. She was born April 8, 1944, in Bloomfield, daughter of Inah (Aslin) and Bob Beal. She and David A. Gard were married December 22, 1962, at First Baptist Church in Bloomfield, Missouri. She was graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1962 and then attended Beauty School in Cape Girardeau, MO. Donna worked as a beautician for many years. Most remember her as the license office lady. She retired from the State of Missouri as a vision tester in 2003 Donna was the first lady elected to the Bloomfield School Board and served as the Mayor of Bloomfield. She was Past District Deputy Grand Matron and Past Worthy Matron of the Bloomfield / Puxico Order of the Eastern Star. Community Service is something that she was passionate about, serving in many clubs and organizations, including being both a Girl and Boy Scout leader. Her favorite job was project manager for the many house remodel projects that she dreamt up for Dave to figure out how to complete. Survivors include her Loving Husband of 60 years David of the home in Bloomfield, her daughter Cyndi (John) Brockmeier of Arnold, MO., son Paul (Lisa) Gard of Cape Girardeau, MO, sister Ann (Bob) Bye of Bloomfield, MO., four grandchildren Katie Brockmeier of Oskaloosa, IA., William E Trey (Jessie) Brockmeier of Springfield, MO., Michaela Gard (Benjamin) Sindle, Kennett, MO., Shayna Snell of Kansas City, MO., brother-in-law Bill (Sharon) Gard Pontiac, MI., sisters-in-law Jane (Gene) Peacock of Scott City, MO., Pam Gard of Athens, TN., Patty Gard of Atlanta, GA., nieces Elizabeth Betsy (Brandon) Jines of Bloomfield, MO., Tracey (John) Boruta of West Bloomfield, MI., nephews Steven (Kristin) Gard of Naperville, IL., Darrin (Crystal) Gard of Dothan, AL., John Bye of Knoxville, TN., Corey Gard of Athens, TN. Special friends and neighbors Pansy Dennis, Jessie and Bo Robey and Church Pew Buddy Helen Taylor. Also many cousins, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law Don and Barbara Gard, niece Terri Gard, and nephew Mark Gard. A memorial service will be held at the Bloomfield First Baptist Church, 201 Center St, Bloomfield, MO on Sunday, March 5, 2023 visitation at 1:00 with funeral service at 2:00 lead by Rev. John McCain. Private Interment will be at Walkers Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to Bloomfield First Baptist Church P.O. Box 276 Bloomfield, MO 63825 and Puxico Masonic Lodge (Building Fund) 20375 CR 283, Puxico, MO 63960. Arrangements were under the care of Ford & Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO.
