Dorothy Harlow Taylor

Dorothy Harlow Taylor, 89, of Marble Hill, died Sunday, August 21, 2022 at her home. She was born November 18, 1932 in Mt. Vernon, Illnois to H. Aungus and Edith Whitlock Harlow. She and Dwight A. Taylor were married December 13, 1980 at Centenary United Methodist Church. She graduated from Mt. Vernon Twp. High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. She retired December 31, 1994 after 20 years with Spartech Group: 13 1/2 years as Executive Secretary, Office Manager and Corporate Secretary, Atlas Plastics; 6 1/2 years Customer Service Manager, The Resin Exchange (Spartech Compounding). She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church since December 13, 1959. She was a past Sunday School teacher for 2nd and 7th grades, past circle leader, and past volunteer receptionist. She was the past president of Mt. Vernon, IL Jr. Woman's Club, past Girl Scout Leader, past president Girardot Chapter, Professional Secretaries International (first Certified Professional Secretary (1979) in Cape Girardeau area); tutor at the Cape Girardeau Adult Learning Center. She volunteered at Southeast Missouri Hospital, was the auxiliary president in 2009 and 2010, and received Margaret Foster Roberts Leadership Award in 2014. She enjoyed reading, playing piano, crossword puzzles, racquetball and aerobics (back in the day), Trivial Pursuit, and most of all, playing with the little ones. Survivors include two daughters, Lynn (David) Christensen of Vidor, TX, Debra (Chuck) Nenninger of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Mark (Deborah) Bradley of Cape Girardeau, Allen (Laurie) Taylor of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Sarah (Bill) Fisher of Wilsonville, OR, John (Stefanie) Taylor of O'Fallon, MO, Matthew (Brittany) Taylor of Kenosha, WI, Christopher (Katie) Christensen of Orange, TX, Jeremy (Christine) Christensen of Vidor, TX; Twelve great-grandchildren, Corbyn, Annika, Teaghan, and Charli Fisher of Wilsonville, OR, Christopher, Leighton, Madden, and Kinsley Christensen of Orange, Texas; Graham Christensen of Vidor, Texas; Hailey and Chase Taylor, of O'Fallon, Missouri; Jaxson Taylor of Kenosha, Wisconsin; sister, Wilma Wilt, of Pomona, California; nephew, Jim barger of Sacramento, Calinfornia; niece Shelly (Gene) Gant of Danvers, Illinois; nephews, Rob Wilt of Mt. Baldy, California; Bill Wilt of Claremont, California; and many of Dwight's loving family who were so dear to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Son, Steven Curtis Bradley; Grandchild, Chip Nenninger; Sisters, Maxine (Harold) Barger, Genita (Sterling) Osborn; nephew, David Barger; brother-in-law, Dick Taylor; sister-in-law, Evelyn (Mitt) Matlock.
