Thursday, August 22, 1940 to Sunday, April 22, 2012 A Resident of Marble Hill, MO Visitation Services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church near Marble Hill, MO The Final Resting Place is at the James Cemetery near Marble Hill, MO Elbert Earl Cook, 71, of Marble Hill, MO; passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born August 22, 1940, at Bessville, MO; son of the late Marion Amon and Grace Mae Angle Cook. On June 26, 1960 he married Verla M Cook and she passed away on April 18, 2011. Elbert worked many years as a logger and pallet mill worker retiring from Keifer Pallet, of Sedgewickville, MO. He was a member of the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church. Elbert had a love for people; he never met anyone he didn't know. He enjoyed church, camping, junking, auctions, gardening and spending time with his special buddy James. His many grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a huge part of what made him PAPAW his love for them was unconditional. Survivors include: three daughters, Pam (Rick) Terbrak, Jan Cook of Marble Hill and Pat (Winthol) Frailey of Jackson, MO; three step children, Brenda Cates of Jackson, Mike (Mary) Sander, Sue (Joe) Jordan of Marble Hill, MO. His dog Tiny, also surviving are siblings Lula Statler, Louise Hanners, Billy JC Cook, Betty Crites, Mary Ellen Robinson and Larry Cook. Thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents and wife, Elbert was preceded in death by one infant brother and an infant sister, a sister Lucille, a brother Gordon, and two grandsons Adam Terbrak and Lance Cates. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, then on Wednesday from 9:30 until service time at the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Sander, and Rev. Alan Terbrak officiating. Interment will follow in the James Cemetery near Marble Hill. Well all miss him i knew him well at the auction at j hiway EB was a good man. He worked hard and took care of his family. He helped his neighbors. I remember when a blizzard came once and people were stranded at church, he built a sled and pulled it with an old logging horse he had. He took every one home. Now Eb is home himself. Safe in the arms of our loving Saviour. WHAT A REUION THERE WILL BE LOVE YOUN'S Our community has suffered a great loss.Eb was a good and a good neighbor.He is home with Verla now and safe in the arms of God.
