Thursday, February 15, 1923 to Thursday, December 08, 2011 A Resident of Leopold, MO Visitation Services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the St John's Catholic Church in Leopold, MO The Final Resting Place is at the St John's Catholic Church Cemetery in Leopold, MO Gertrude "Gertie" C. Vandeven, age 88, of Leopold, MO, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at her residence. She was born February 15, 1923 at Leopold, daughter of Gerhard L. and Anna Debrock Jansen. On September 20, 1945 she and Victor George Vandeven where united in marriage at the St. John's Catholic Church at Leopold. He passed away on December 5, 2007. Mrs. Vandeven was a homemaker, a member of the St. John's Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality of St. John's Church. Survivors include; sons, Norbert (Millie) Vandeven, Phillip (Vickey) Vandeven both of Marble Hill, Darrel (Carolyn) Vandeven, Whitewater, MO, daughters; Carol Ann (Larry) VanGennip, Marble Hill, Connie (Larry) Nussbaum, Leopold, fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and three sisters. In Lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Alzheimer Association. Friends may call Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with parish prayers and K of C Rosary at 7:15 PM. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church with the Rev. William Hennecke officiating; Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Dear cousins- I see Aunt Gertie joining with Uncle Vick, and my Dad and all their siblings today--in a better place, a happier place. She was always very kind to me and Sheila. What will it be when we get over yonder and join our loved ones and crown Christ forever. Yes, that is just what heaven means to me. Vickey & Phil sorry to hear about your Mother passing away ! I know I miss my mom everyday ,but I know she is my angel in heaven watching over me and the rest of our family!and every time I think of her I see her smiling at me and that is what gets me through the day especially when I'm having a bad day! I will be saying a prayer for you and your family!
