Friday, July 01, 1932 to Thursday, April 21, 2016 A Resident of Glen Allen, MO Visitation Services will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Grassy Friendship General Baptist Church Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Grassy Friendship General Baptist Church The Final Resting Place is at the McGee Chapel Cemetery near Glen Allen, MO Lettie Idella (Eaker) Simmons left her home here on earth and entered her heavenly home on April 21, 2016. She was born on June 1, 1932 to Dewey and Mamie (Morlan) Eaker. On October 9, 1948, she married Bill J. Simmons, the love of her life and soul mate for over 67 years. They brought into this world five children Carol (Ed) Smith, deceased; Kenneth (Sharon) Simmons of Glen Allen, Missouri; Cathy (Kenneth) Trentham of Marble Hill, Missouri; Tammy (Patrick) Tankersley of Jackson, Missouri; Kristi (David) Black of Jackson, Missouri. Twelve grandchildren who she loved to spoil, they include: Jaycie (Andy) Johnson; Samantha (Josh) Hobbs; Jodi(Donnie) Long; Justin Simmons; Lucas (Jenna) Simmons; Kyle Trentham; Cory (Cassie) Trentham; Tyler (Jessica) Tankersley; Caleb Tankersley; Whitney (Matt) Miller; Katie and Hallie Black. She was blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren, Bella, Gwynnie and Lucy Johnson; Callie Hobbs and a little brother Elijah who will enter this world this summer; Chloe, Mattie and Ellie Simmons; Abbigail and Garret Simmons; Faith and Jacob Trentham; Henry and Owen Tankersley and Sydney Miller. Lettie is also survived by two sisters who she adored, Wilma Jene (Jack) Bond-Butler of Edwardsville, Illinois; Dorma (Dale) Mueller of Godfrey, Illinois. Lettie loved her husband and family with her entire being unconditionally, including brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and set a great example for all. She loved using her gift of hospitality by cooking and taking care of others. She shared kind words and her beautiful smile with all she met. Her words of encouragement no matter the circumstances were "It'll be fine, just fine". She loved her God utmost and was a Sunday School teacher at Grassy Friendship Church for many years where she was a member. The legacy she leaves with us is, this world is temporal, so love God and love people with all of your heart, as this is truly what matters. She worked as a teacher's aide for a brief period and then served as Postmaster Relief at Glen Allen Post Office for nineteen years. She was proceeded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters and one daughter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the McGee Chapel Cemetery Association. Visitation will be Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Grassy Friendship General Baptist Church in Grassy, Missouri until time of service at 2:00 PM with the Revs. Elijah Allen, Patrick Tankersley and Tyler Tankersley officiating.
