Thursday, March 29, 1923 to Sunday, February 07, 2010 A Resident of Marble Hill, MO Visitation Services will be held on Monday, February 08, 2010 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill, MO Maedean Garland, 86, of Marble Hill, MO, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Marble Hill, MO. She was born March 29, 1923 at Bessville, MO; daughter of Amon and Eliza Jane Pulliam Cook. She and Ransom J. "Man" Garland were united in marriage on March 26, 1938 and he died on November 2, 1991. Maedean was a homemaker and a member of the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church. Survivors include: two sons, Jerry L. (Faye) Garland and Bill R. (Gail) Garland both of Marble Hill, two daughters, Velda (Larry) Doggett of Sedgewickville, Judy (Ken) Liley of Marble Hill; one son-n-law, Wayne Schmitt of St. Louis, seven grandchildren, Chris Liley, Michael Liley, Mike Garland, Stephania Doggett, Kevin Garland, Jeff Garland, and Kassi Duffield, nine great-grandchildren, Danielle, Joshua, Adam, Austin, Annie, Jake, Kalli, Bryant, and Isaac. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Betty Schmitt, Lisa Garland, one brother, Earl Cook, and one sister, Carmen Davis. Visitation will be Monday, February 8, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Sander, Rev. Jeff Garland, and Rev. Micah Bristow officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill. I'm so sorry I didn't hear. I used to ask Candi how's "grandma" Garland and she would say good. I loved her a lot. She wouldn't let me call her Maedean,only "grandma". She went home on Jamie's 26th birthday. What a glorious day for her,but a time of grief for her loved ones. May the Lord hold you close and give you peace. We'll all see her precious face one day soon. Dearest family, I cannot begin to tell you what this beloved woman meant to me. She has been my grandma since mine have been gone. She was there to listen when I needed to talk to my grandma Fulbright. God does not choose every woman to be a mother and a grandmother, but he definitly got it right with Maedean. She will be sorely missed and to all of us she left behind, we have many, many great memories to sustain us until we meet again on that beautiful shore. Grandma, we will all miss you. Thank God you were such an influential part of our lives. We love you and are so glad to turn you over to the one who leant you to us for so many years. I love you very much. We loved her dearly and I will always remember her beautiful smile, warm heart and lovely fragrance. We know that God is enjoying the wonderful fragrance of a beautiful soul in his presence on this day. To all family, we love you and hold you close to our hearts. The Morris Family God chose the most beautiful flower for his heavenly bouquet. Grandma Garland was just that. She was very special to anyone who was blessed to know her. No one was a stranger to her that she would make them feel welcome. I will always hold her, and grandpa dear within my heart as I was very blessed to be part of their family. May your hearts be light and memories dear with the love she engraved into hearts of rosebuds she tended so dearly. I was blessed to give birth to Adam on that special day in March, which he shared with a Tremendous Great Grandmother!
