Wednesday, April 20, 1921 to Thursday, July 01, 2010 A Resident of Marble Hill, MO Visitation Services will be held on Monday, July 05, 2010 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 06, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Old Union Cemetery near Bessville, MO Marie Katheryn Greer, 89, of Marble Hill, MO, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010 at her residence. She was born April 20, 1921 at Flat River, MO; daughter of Rhonie "Totts" and Edna Mabuce Hansen. She and Russell V Greer were united in marriage on August 6, 1943 and he passed away on July 5, 1993. Marie worked as a mail carrier, a teacher, was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Old Union Methodist Church. Survivors include: two sons, Bruce and Van Greer both of Marble Hill; two sisters, Joann Shrum of Marble Hill; Hazel Dulle of St. Louis; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John, J. K. Hansen and one sister, Ila May Abernathy. Visitation will be Monday, July 5, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery near Bessville, MO. Marie will be greatly missed. Being my mother's oldest and closest friend(Susie Butler Wagner), she was always with mom,side by side,at our reunions. She and Mom had themselves a time remembering the old days and catching up every year. I believe that they are together forever ,best friends,to part no more. What a happy time they must be having with the Lord, Aunt Beaulah,and Ruby. Here christmas has come and gone and now the new year is approaching, she is missed so much by me and my family. Every christmas we went caroling to her house and she even came with us to the cabin. She will always be missed. Love you guys Dear Family, Just wanted you to know I loved your mom very much she was a very close friend and she will be missed. Thanks for sharing your mother with us, she is the rare flower in the garden that makes the winters bright My thoughts are with you guys. You have a wonderful Mother. She always had a smile for anyone. cherish the memories and god bless. Thinking of you and will see you on Monday. Your mama was a beautiful light in this world. So sorry to hear about Marie. Very nice kind lady who would do anything she could to help others. She will be missed. Prayers for her sons and family.
