She was born on September 3, 1923 in Ottumwa, Iowa daughter of William Earnest and May Shrum Farnsworth. She moved with her family to Missouri. Marjorie attended Patton High School where she met Linder Starkey Green. They were united in marriage on August 17, 1940. Marjorie graduated from the Lutesville High School in 1954, then attended the Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. She spent most of her life working as a accountant in Lutesville, Jefferson City and Jackson, Missouri. Marjorie loved to garden, sew, crochet and cook. She always had pie, cake, candy or cookies when the family visited and of course great meals from the garden. She is survived by her daughters Ruth Green (Gary) Hipple of La Feria, Texas; Florence Green (Michael) Hurst of Cape Girardeau, MO; grandchildren Jeffery (Heather) Ingerson of Sierra Vista, Arizona; James David (Darlene) Green of St. Hesperia, California; Tracey Lynn (Javier) Garza of Aurora, Illinois; Julie (Clayton) Shackelford of El Paso, Texas; Sara (Bryan) Doyen of Jackson, Missouri and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Mae(Shrum) and Earnest W. Farnsworth, her husband Linder Starkey Green, daughter Linda Lou Myers Lumley and son James Walter Green. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri. Funeral Services for Marjorie and her son James Walter Green will be held at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Huff officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery near Marble Hill, Missouri.
