Saturday, April 25, 1925 to Friday, February 12, 2010 A Resident of Leopold, MO Visitation Services will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Barks General Baptist Church The Final Resting Place is at the Laflin Cemetery near Laflin, MO Pastor Curtis Lynn Allen, 84, of Leopold, MO, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 12, 2010 at his residence. He was born April 25, 1925, in Doe Run, MO; son of Maple W. and Hazel F. Huff Allen. He and Velma Huffman were united in marriage on September 30, 1949. Pastor Allen was ordained on October 20, 1962, a member of Old Liberty Association, a member of Barks Chapel General Baptist Church and worked as a Timber worker and farmer. Survivors include: his wife, Velma of Leopold; four sons, Mark (Barbara) Allen, Pastor Joe (Cathy) Allen, Pastor Aaron (Connie) Allen and Pastor Elijah (Teresa) Allen all of Leopold, one daughter Janis (John) Hovis of Zalma; one brother, David Allen of Whitewater, one sister, Genevieve Jones of O'Fallon, IL, sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Timothy, and one sister, Mary Ester Allen. Visitation will be Sunday, February 14, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Then on Monday at Barks General Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until Service time at 11:00 AM. Funeral Services will be Monday, February 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Barks Chapel General Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Fulbright, Rev. Steve Sander, and Rev. David Kempfer officiating. Burial will follow in the Laflin Cemetery near Laflin, MO. In Lieu of Flowers donation may be made to the Gideon's, Little Valley Missions Fund, or to the Laflin Cemetery Association. I have very fond memories of all the good times we all shared. I am sorry we could not make it up there, but know that I am praying for peace and strength for all of you. Even though we know he is now with the lord, it is still difficult to let go of our loved ones. Our prayers are with each of you. When I was a boy I first heard Bro. Allen preach. He was so anotined of God. To the family I love you all and will be lifting you up in prayers. I know all to well the lose of a loved one. But we'll see them soon!
