Sunday, February 22, 1925 to Sunday, February 15, 2015 A Resident of Marquand, MO Visitation Services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton, MO Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Union Light Church Cemetery near Marquand, MO Rev. George Washington Mills age 89, of Marquand, MO; passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Stockoff Nursing Home. He was born February 22, 1925 in Patton, MO; son of James and Hilda Mills. He and Lola Louise Trentham were united in marriage on March 13, 1943. Rev. Mills was ordained by the Congregational Methodist Church on August 6,1948, he pastored several churches over the years holding many revivals in MO and TN. He was a founding member that started the Calvary Hilltop Youth Camp, worked for Shell Feed, Buchiett, Drove a Truck, Built Roads with Penzel Construction, and used to say he had done about everything while pastoring and doing the revivals. He was a very hard working man and will be missed by all. He served his country proudly in WWII from July 6, 1944 to April 22, 1946. Survivors include; his wife Lola; daughter Shirley (David) Holler of Marquand, MO; brother Bill (Shirley) Mills of Marquand; sisters Esther Upchurch; Bonnie Wagner, Judy (Gerald) Webb all of Marquand; Faye (Tom) Slinkard of Fredericktown; Carol (Duel) Standfil of Farmington; grandchildren Tony (Molly) Russell; Mitchell (Jacki) Russell of Marquand; Jennifer (Raul) Woerner of Medford, OR; great grandchildren Jessica (Shawn) Vandeusen; Lacey Hinkle of Jackson; Mandy Cole, Mickey Cole of Chicago IL; Jake Sarver of Chillicothe, IL and great-great-grandsons Connor, Jackson, and Keegan. Preceding him in death was his parents, daughter Brenda K. Mills; brother Delbert Mills, sister Mabel Henson and granddaughter Cheryl Russell. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society and the Wounded Warriors Project. Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Frog Mills and Rev. Tommy Fults officiating.
