Rory Dorries Gloth

Rory Dorries Gloth passed away at the age of 51 February 4, 2023 in Rowlett, Texas. Rory was born October 3, 1971 to Charles and LaQuita Gloth in Hayti, Missouri. Rory was a General Contractor for over 35 years. He began his building career with his father at age 15 as a trim carpenter. In addition, Rory and his wife owned multiple restaurants and salons over the years and loved finding new projects to bless with his creative and artistic mind. He loved to play basketball, softball, poker (he considered poker a sport) and was a champion bowler. He got his love of horse racing from his daddy and they spent many hours and too much money studying the horses together. If you knew him, you loved him. There was no other option. He was always the highlight of every gathering and could always be found telling yet another story. He loved to sing and had an amazing voice, dance (he was a better singer), being a comedian, embarrassing his family and friends in public places and generally just being with his family. Family was everything to Rory. Even as a young child, his heart could always be found on his sleeve. He had a true loving, giving heart and a need deep in his soul to help anyone he came across. Rory is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Laquita Gloth, his brother Christopher Gloth and his daughter Valerie Vela. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Diana Elizabeth Gloth, son Asencion Vela, daughter Gloria Montoya (Isaac), and daughter Christen Gloth. He is also survived by his sister Kelly Lawrence (Wayne) of Rockwall, Tx, sister in law Corie Butler (Steven), brother in laws Michael Barrera (Christi) of Mission, Tx and Ramon Barrera Jr (Tonya) of Fate,Tx and his in laws Ramon and Dina Barrera of Weslaco, Tx. Rory has nine grandchildren who will miss him every day: Jazmin, Gavin, Zane, Bailey, Taylor, Taytum, Jayden, Lexi and Bellamy. Rory also has 24 nieces and nephews who loved him so: Kadie Dawn, Courtney, Kale, Austin, Ashley, Priscilla, Steven, Jacob, Josh, Andrew, Aaron, Alec, Anthony, Genesis, Alexis, Mya, Charlie, Rylie Sue, Preston, Jake, Zalaynah, Zariah, and Zavien. Rory's life will be celebrated at his home church, Freedom Place in Rowlett, Tx Thursday February 9, 2023 at 3 pm for visitation and 4 pm for the service. He will then be taken to Passover Cemetery in Whitewater, Missouri and will be laid to rest next to his father, mother and brother with a graveside service on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
