Tuesday, November 30, 1920 to Tuesday, July 03, 2007 A Resident of Mayfield, MO Visitation Services will be held on Thursday, July 05, 2007 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton, MO Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 06, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Pulliam Cemetery near Scopus, MO Russell Clyde Cook Sr., age 86, of Patton, MO, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the family home. He was born November 30, 1920 at Mayfield, MO, son of James Luther and Flora Adeline Mayfield Cook. He and Alene V. Mayfield were married June 12, 1943 and she died February 4, 1990. Mr. Cook was a member of the Marble Hill Church of Christ where he served as Song Leader for many years. He served on the Pulliam Cemetery Board, was a member of the Gospel Harmonizers Quartet. He was a farmer, spent several years working for a local saw mill, worked for the International Shoe Factory, worked for the Atlas Plastic Company. He also drove a school bus for the Meadow Heights School District, and was a past member of the Meadow Heights School Board. He served his Country proudly in the United States Army during WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the European African Middle Eastern Theater where he received a Purple Heart and the WWII Victory Medal. Survivors include; two sons, Russell Cook Jr. of Patton, MO, Mark Cook of Cape Girardeau, MO, two daughters, Carolyn Tretten of Reno, Nevada, Sharon Orrell of Jackson, MO, two sisters, Melba Fulbright of Marble Hill, MO, Thelma Bollinger of Jackson, MO, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers Linwood and Arthur, and three granddaughters. Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton Thursday July 5, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 AM with Gerald Cowan officiating. Burial will follow in the Pulliam Cemetery near Marble Hill with full Military Honors provided by the Missouri Military Honors Team. I'm so sorry for the loss of your father.
