She was born August 3, 1935 at Scopus, MO, daughter of Linus and Pearl Lincoln James. She and William "Bud" Newell were married September 3, 1954 and he preceded her in death June 27, 1994. She was a retired housekeeper at the Valley Park Nursing Home in Valley Park MO. Survivors include a son, Ricky Newell, French Village, MO, a daughter, Brenda Doggendorf of Arnold, a brother Junior James, Jackson, MO, a sister Wilma Carver, High Ridge, MO and four grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Liley Funeral in Marble Hill. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sid Laxton officiating. The burial will be in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill. We were blessed to know your mom, Brenda. I enjoyed the dinners we had together with the Small Group girls and the swim parties when she would come along and get tickled at our silliness. She endured her illness with dignity and maintained the same sweet, gentle presence that I always knew her to have. I pray that your good memories sustain you all during this difficult time and that you are comforted to know that she is in heaven in the presence of her God listening to a multitude of angels singing a chorus of praise! I wish we had known her more, but I'm sure that many of your wonderful qualities, Brenda, come from her.
