Thursday, August 20, 1925 to Thursday, May 17, 2012 A Resident of Marble Hill, MO Visitation Services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill, MO Arvie Dale "Buck" Johnson, 86, of Marble Hill, MO; passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born August 20, 1925, at Bonne Terre, MO; son of the late Courtney Lawrence and Oriole E Johnson. On April 10, 1945, he married Lillie Marie Barks in Corning, AR; and she passed away on November 9, 2003. Buck and his wife were owners of Johnson's five and dime store in Lutesville; for 30 years,in later years he owned and operated Shorty's Restaurant in Marble Hill, he was a member of the VFW Post #5900, served on the Marble Hill Fire Department and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marble Hill. Johnson served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII in the European, African, Middle Eastern Area, and the American Area. Survivors include: son Randall and wife Brenda Johnson of Marble Hill; daughters Brenda and husband Kenneth Underwood of Bardwell, KY; Sandra Estes & Rhonda Johnson of Marble Hill; Susie Johnson of Jackson, MO; brothers Olen Johnson of Davenport, FL; Donald Johnson of Bonne Terre, MO; sisters Verna White of Jackson; Ruth Gordon of Cahokia, IL; grandchildren Stephanie Myers, Tyler Nalley, Kristal Ward, Shannon Estes, Tennille Roberson, Kendall Estes, Karen Walker, Kent Underwood, Chris Rhodes, Tyson Rayburn, Todd Johnson, Jill Strong, Danielle Gemeinhardt, Courtney Vance & Brianna Vance and twenty five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, wife, and grandson Buck was preceded in death five brothers and one sister. Visitation will be Monday, May 21, 2012 from 10:00 to 1:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral Services will be on Monday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with the Rev Michael Sower and Dr. John Englehart officiating. Interment will follow in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill with full military honors provided by the Missouri Military Honors Team. Prayers going up for you all.
