Wednesday, March 17, 1937 to Thursday, April 19, 2012 A Resident of Patton, MO Visitation Services will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton, MO Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO Gilbert Lee Tarrance, 75, of Patton, MO, passed away on April 19, 2012 at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born March 17, 1937 in Sikeston, MO; son of William Gilbert and Lydia Faye Lands Tarrance. He and Carol Harwell were united in marriage on March 2, 1963. Gilbert retired from the International Paper Company, drove a school bus for Meadow Heights and a member of the Liberty Congregational Methodist Church. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife Carol of Patton; daughter Marla Sue Kennedy of Patton; brothers Charlie Gene Tarrance of Leitchfield, KY; Gary Wayne Hopewell of Perryville; grandchildren Kelsey and Cody Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be after 4:00 P. M. Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton. Graveside services will be Monday at 10:00 A.M. at the Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO; with the Rev. Jamie Hovis officiating and full military rights by the MO Military Honors team. We were so sorry to hear of your dad's passing Marla,our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today..May God Bless you and give you peace. One of the best vacations we ever had was with Carol and Gilbert, but that was just a highlight of any time spent around them. Whether camping, tubing or just sharing a meal, we always left the day saying what great people they are. Our thoughts and prayers are with Carol, Marla, Jerry (who we know Gilbert loved and depended on) Kelsey, and Cody. I loved you dearly and will never forget all of my summer trips to MO to spend time with one of my favorite people in the world. You are resting now and I pray that Carol, Marla, and everyone find peace and acceptance soon. Save an intertube for me buddy.... Gilbert was a super nice guy & he will be missed by many. I will always remember the good times we had when i was young and you would build us a motorcycle ramp and you would lay down and let me jump over you. you will be dearly missed and loved. you were a great uncle and never be forgotten. To a wonderful uncle. I will always cherish our time together camping. When I was young I enjoyed squirrel hunting with you. My children still talk about you and your campfire cooking, riding your bike and taking them swimming at the lake. We love you and miss you. I will truly miss you,You are a great,uncle,You will be missed by alot of people,I love you Uncle Gilbert,
