Saturday, January 24, 1920 to Monday, April 16, 2007 A Resident of Leopold, MO Visitation Services will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the St John's Catholic Church in Leopold, MO The Final Resting Place is at the St John's Catholic Church Cemetery in Leopold, MO Irvin James VandeVen, age 87, of Leopold, died Monday, April 16, 2007 at the family home. He was born January 24, 1920 near Leopold, MO son of George and Dina Tenholder VandeVen. He and Adeline Marie Jansen were united in marriage on April 16, 1941 and she died on November 14, 1991. Mr. VandeVen was a farmer, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the SEMO Horseshoe Association and a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold. Survivors include two sons; Stanley (Elaine) Vandeven of Leopold, MO, Roger (Sheree) Vandeven of Leopold, MO, two daughters Wilma (Bob) Thele of Jackson, MO, Glenda (Art) Myracle of Jackson,one brother, Ray Vandeven of Festus, MO, nine grandchildren, Steven, Stan, and Keith Beel of Marble Hill, Darrell and Donnie Vandeven of St. Joseph, LA, Brad Vandeven of Leopold, Gwen Long of Marble Hill, Jill Begley of Delta and Sheila King of Jackson and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Adeline, one son of Donald Vandeven, one daughter Thelma Beel, three brothers, Ben, Herman and Hubert, three sisters, Mary Ann Vandeven, Florence Stoverink, Gertie Jansen and one grandson Christopher Vandeven. Friends may call Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with parish prayers at 7:00 PM. Funeral mass will be Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Huggins officiating; Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. This year, Uncle Irv shared some of those stories through Glenda for Eric's school history project. His stories were so vivid that I could see him and our Grandpa Rob together. They are probably pitching horseshoes together in heaven. You are in our prayers.
