Tuesday, April 21, 1925 to Friday, August 13, 2010 A Resident of Ballwin, MO Visitation Services will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lord Funeral Home at 2900 Telegraph Road in St. Louis, MO Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Lord Funeral Home at 2900 Telegraph Road in St. Louis, MO James Norman "POP" Easter, age 85, of Ballwin, MO passed away on Friday, August 13, 2010 at his granddaughters residence. He was born April 21, 1925 in Licking, IL, son of Walter Leslie and Ethel Mae McLain Easter. He and Clara Marcelene Roach were united in marriage on October 9, 1948 and she passed away May 20, 2003. James had served his country proudly in the Unites States Navy during WWII as a tug boat driver in the Philippine Islands. After departing the Navy, he went to work for local #600 for 38 years and drove for Duff Trucking in St. Louis. When he retired he and his wife Marcelene played Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for Wal-Mart, several Real Estate Companies, Day Care Centers, Schools, private parties, and Gambrill Gardens Retirement Community. He was a member of the Castlewood Baptist Church in Castlewood, MO where he was very active and served as Deacon and Bus Driver for several years. When he moved in with his granddaughter Tammy and her husband Michael, in December of 2009 he started attending the Cottage of Grace General Baptist Church in Marble Hill. Survivors include: four sons, Steve Easter of Ballwin, MO; Randy (Karen ) Easter of High Ridge, MO; Bobby Easter of Ballwin, MO; David (Rosemary) Easter of Springfield, MO; one daughter, Gail M. Armstrong of Ballwin, MO; one brother, George Donald (Mary) Easter of Elk Grove, CA, one sister, Elizabeth Dubuque of Ballwin, MO, twelve grandchildren, Tammy (Michael) Liley of Marble Hill, MO; Tina (Paul) Brown of Arnold, MO; Mason Partney, High Ridge, MO; Matthew (Krystal) Easter, Imperial, MO; Jamie Lea Bausch, Ballwin, MO; Ashley Easter (John David Flores Jr.), Arnold, MO; James (Sandy) Easter, Lake St. Louis, MO; Andy Easter, High Ridge, MO; Jessica James, Kyla James, Breanna Easter, Jordan Easter all of Springfield, MO; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan and Timmy Brown, Kayla Partney, Austin Liley, Chase Partney, Noah Easter, Eva Marie Bausch, and Isabella Easter. He was preceded in death by his wife Marcelene, parents, four brothers, Roger, Roy, Jack, Bob, and two sisters, Martha Kohler, Virginia Easter. Visitation will be Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Lord Funeral Home at 2900 Telegraph Road in St. Louis, MO. Funeral Services will be Monday, August 23, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. John Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Barrack National Cemetery in St. Louis with full military honors provided by the United States Navy.
