Saturday, March 27, 1926 to Wednesday, February 18, 2015 A Resident of Wappapello, MO Visitation Services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Faith Baptist Church in Wappapello, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Wappapello Cemetery in Wappapello, MO John Daniel Faries, age 88, of Wappapello, MO passed away on February 18, 2015 at the Monticello House in Jackson, MO. He was born March 27, 1926 to Joseph Cosper and Maime Edna Porterfield Faries at Mingo, MO. He and Jessie Irene Cook were united in marriage on June 23, 1946. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy during WW II. Daniel and Jessie lived from 1958 until 1987 in Spearman, TX when he retired as a Meter Technician from the Northern Natural Gas Company. They moved to Wappapello, MO in 1987 to enjoy their retirement. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church and a 50-year member of the order of the Eastern Star and the West View Masonic Lodge, the Shrine Temple, the Scottish Rite, the American Legion and VFW Post 3416 at Wappapello. Survivors include, a son Kenneth (Sylvia) Faries, Burns, TN, a daughter-in-law Dara Faries of Prosper, TX, two brothers; James L. Faries. Williamsville, MO, Joseph P. Faries of Piedmont, MO, a sister, Esther Parker, of Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren; Amy (Dan) McCollum of Roanoke, TX, Stephanie (Eric) Greer of Brentwood, TN, Kara (Robert) Womble of Spearman, TX and Clint (Millie) Faries of Prosper, TX and nine great-grandchildren; Emily, Meg, and Drew McCollum of Roanoke, Ethan, Ella, and Matthew Greer of Brentwood, Kitson and Kalla Womble of Spearman and Irelyn Faries of Prosper, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jessie; a son Gary Daniel Faries; an older sister, Sylvia (Faries) Simpson; an older brother, Durward Faries. Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. There will be a Masonic service at 7:00 PM conducted by West View Masonic Lodge. Visitation will also be Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at the Faith Baptist Church in Wappapello, MO with Pastor Bruce Pittman officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Wappapello Cemetery in Wappapello, MO. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project. Condolences may be left at www.lileyfuneralhomes.com
