Friday, August 04, 1950 to Saturday, April 21, 2012 A Resident of Cape Girardeau, MO Visitation Services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Patton Cemetery near Patton, MO Mary Louise Whitener Conrad, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO after a valiant fight with cancer. She was born August 4, 1950, in Cape Girardeau; daughter of Wendell (Jack) and Wilma J. Wallis Whitener. On June 22, 1969, she married her high school sweetheart, Terry Conrad. Mary Lou grew up in Patton, MO; and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1972. she retired after being a kindergarten teacher, first grade teacher, and a parents as teachers at Meadow Heights for 30 years. She loved teaching but retired to spend time with her grandchildren. Mary Lou had a love for life and the people around her that was extraordinary. Mary Lou was a member of Sedgewickville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Terry; son Justin Conrad; son Christopher and his wife Jessica and their children Chase David, Allie Jo, and Bode Cole, brother John (Lois) Whitener, aunt Mary Wallis, aunt Doris (John) O'Bannon, the Whitener cousins, sister-in-laws Donna (David) Allen; Debbie Poindexter; brother-in-law Marty (Rhonda) Conrad, nieces and nephews, and many; many friends. Pallbearers are Justin Conrad, Chris Conrad, Will Yount, Rick Strothman, Terry Allen, and Marty Conrad. Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, April 23, 2012, and then on Tuesday, at the Sedgewickville United Methodist Church from 9:30 AM until time of service. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM at the church with the Rev. James Richardson and Rev. Anthony Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Patton Cemetery. As an only kid, Mary Lou and the rest of my cousins were like my sisters to me. Even when I was a brat, Mary Lou treated me in the most kindest loving ways that have influenced me throughout my life. In many ways, to me she was the best of all of us and it is surely a huge part of our family that has departed. With love from Montana.John Bill and family. Mary Lou always had a special place in my heart....I dont know if she ever knew what an impact she made on my life and I wish that I would have told her. I am so grateful that I will get the opportunity to see her again and speak to her face to face. I never knew this woman that she didnt have a smile to share. Terry, I am writing this because there won't be time to talk to you tomorrow, I am sure. I cannot imagine how sad you and the boys must be. Growing up Mary Lou was nothing but fun to me. We knew every square inch of the old store. It broke my heart when it burned. Even in high school when 3 years is a large difference in age, Mary Lou always had time for me. Later on when I went to a MH ballgame I hoped she would be there to talk to. She will be truly missed.
