Tuesday, January 25, 1916 to Sunday, February 20, 2011 A Resident of Marble Hill, MO Visitation Services will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the St John's Catholic Church in Leopold, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Mt Hope Cemetery in Perryville, MO Paul J. Aleksiak Sr., age 95, of Marble Hill, MO, passed away on February 20, 2011 at the MO Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born January 25, 1916 at Madison, IL; son of Peter and Franntha Holanowig Aleksiak. He and Katherine Misukonis were united in marriage on June 22, 1946 and she passed away on July 20, 2001. Paul had worked melting Scrap Iron to form ingots for Granite City Tool Company, was a member of Local #1899, Granite City #2003 and National Steel Workers. He served his country proudly in the US Marine Corps from 1931 to 1933 then during WWII from 1942 to 1945 earning a purple heart. Survivors include: one son, Paul J. Aleksiak II of Council Bluff, Iowa, three daughters, Frances Clements of Perryville; Nancy Pigott of Evansville, IND; Mary Ann Misukonis of Durham, NC; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter Patricia Klamenek, one brother Walter, and four sisters Stella, Mayme, Josephine, and Anna. In Lieu of flowers donation maybe made to Knights of Columbus #5898 or to the Saint John's CYC of Leopold. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with parish prayers and KC rosary at 7:30 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM at the St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold with Rev. William Hennecke officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Perryville, MO, with full military honors provided by the Missouri Honor Guard. Our dear Uncle Paul - may you rest in peace. He was a kind, generous and happy person, who loved people and his animals. Our deepest condolences and sympathy goes to his Son, Paul, Jr. and to Uncle Paul's family. May he rest in peace.
