Jessie L. "Dude" Long, 81, of Marble Hill, MO, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 16, 1927 in Hurricane, MO son of David Franklin and Barbara Caroline Causey Long. He and C. Madeline Crites were married on October 2, 1948. Rev. Long was a retired UAW worker for General Motors Corporation as a painter, started his membership in the Masonic Lodge #281 in Fenton then moved to the Masonic Trowel Lodge #440 of Marble Hill where he was a 32 degree Scottish Rite member, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, ordained into the Old Liberty Association of General Baptist on March 29, 1958, he pastored eleven churches, which he organized the Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in St. Louis and Mt. Olive General Baptist Church in Fenton and was a member of the Lutesville General Baptist Church in Marble Hill. He proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Army as a squadron leader and an antiaircraft gunner in Japan. Survivors include: his wife, Madeline, one son; Kevin (Ellie) Long of Marble Hill, MO; two daughters Connie Guccione (Charles Serra) of St. Louis, Theresa (Timothy) Sites-Karraker of Jackson; one sister Aslee Cook of Marble Hill; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, thirteen brothers, two infants, Elvin, Woodrow, Ed, Ivan, Henry, Hubert, William Paul (Babe), Huey, Jake, Leo (Muck), Arzie, two sisters, an infant, Stella Cook and one grandchild. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, April 24, 2009 at the Hurricane Fork General Baptist church near Marble Hill. Masonic service will be at 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be Sunday, April 25, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church with Rev. Gale Lambert, Rev. Steve Sander, Rev. Junior Bennett, Rev. Micah Bristow, Rev. Donnie Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill with full military honors provided by the Missouri Honors Team.
