Sylvia Jane Chestnut

Sylvia Jane Myers Chestnut, 88, of Marble Hill, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born on February 23, 1936, in Lutesville, MO to the late Otis and Mellie (Null) Hahn at Marble Hill, MO. She attended school at Lutesville High graduating in 1953. She and Harold "Peanut" Myers were married for 31 when he passed away June 24, 1985. Jane later married Jimmie Lee Chestnut and they built a life filled with love and shared memories, he preceded her on Aug. 7, 2018 . Jane was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who's warmth, kindness and generosity will be missed by all who knew her. Throughout her life, Jane was known for her love for flowers and birds. Her home was always a welcoming place, filled with laughter, she took great joy in being surrounded by her family, whether celebrating holidays, milestones, or simply enjoying time together. She was a cherished mother to three Daughters, Sheree Grimsley (Tom Cook) of Gordonville, Tina (Donald) Nenninger of Leopold, Abby (Tim) Jones of Fruitland; a proud grandmother of; six grandchildren, Tonya (James) Lewis, Casey Grimsley, Emily Lanpher, Adam (Tammy) Grimsley, Ashley Stratman, Brooke Stratman, and doting great grandmother of eight great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kyleigh, Landon, Addyson, Maleeya, Clare, Josiah, Ezarius and a brother Ted (Vicky) Hahn of Cape Girardeau and many other loved ones who will continue to honor her memory and her legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of her family In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter Maria Dean Myers and a son-in-law Randy Broshuis and her dog and cat Susie and Socksy. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Ford & Liley Funeral Home, Marble Hill, MO. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev Michael Woods Officiating Burial will take place in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
