Thursday, June 22, 1939 to Friday, August 27, 2010 A Resident of Marble Hill, MO Visitation Services will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, MO The Final Resting Place is at the Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill, MO Verla Mae Sutton, age 71, of Marble Hill, MO passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Marble Hill, MO. She was born June 22, 1939 in Bollinger County, MO; daughter of Melvin and Mahala Welker Mayfield. She and George L Sutton were married on May 6, 1967 and he passed away on June 18, 1985. Verla worked for the Hat Factory in Marble Hill as a seamstress and was a member of the Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church. Survivors include: three brothers Clarence Mayfield of Marble Hill; Lester Mayfield of Scott City, MO; Donald Mayfield of Patton, MO; one sister Mabel Patton of Marble Hill, several Nieces, Nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and two aunts. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Visitation will be Sunday, August 29, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral Services will be Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Jimmie Fulbright and Rev. Steven Sander officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill. Dear Family, Verla was such a special person, she was a kind, loving, person with a heart bigger than any I have ever seen. So glad I got to spend some time with her this spring and summer. We laughed and laughed while sitting outside in the sun and beautiful weather. Heaven is gaining an angel. Precious memories. To Verla's family, especially Mabel and Clarence, who may be the only ones to remember me. I would love to be with you for some of this time. Verla and I were very close in age (4 days difference, I believe,) and we played together when my family lived on Hurricane. We have stayed in touch all these years, both in correspondence and visiting at occasions when we could. She always contacted me when someone in the family died, and I was totally shocked when I saw on the Liley web page that she had died. She was a very special person. I will miss her... as I know you all will. Jackie
